A New Chapter in Macon: Nurturing Lactation Care Opens on Historic Vineville Avenue

I’ve never been one to keep big news to myself, so here it is: On March 1st, I’m opening a Nurturing Lactation Care office right here in Macon, and I’m already booking appointments for that first week. Suite 107 at 2607 Vineville Avenue will officially become a space where Middle Georgia families can find the lactation support they need without the drive.

And y’all, this building. This building.

When I first walked into Stanislaus Commons, I felt that little flutter you get when something just fits. You know that feeling? The one where your insides whisper “yes” before your brain has a chance to overthink things? That’s what happened here.

Where History Meets New Beginnings

The property at 2607 Vineville sits in the heart of the Vineville Historic District, and if these walls could talk, they’d have stories stretching back to 1879. That’s right—this building has been standing on this corner for nearly 150 years. It witnessed the evolution of Macon, survived whatever came its way, and in 2010, it was lovingly restored and reimagined as office suites.

There’s something about old buildings that gets me. Maybe it’s the Southern girl in me, but I love the idea that generations of people have walked through these doors, that this structure has held space for so many chapters of life in Macon. And now it gets to be part of mine—and hopefully yours.

Vineville Avenue itself was originally a dirt road built in the 1830s to connect Macon with Forsyth. The whole area started as sprawling estates before being subdivided into the charming neighborhood it is today. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and when you drive down Vineville, you’ll understand why. Shade trees arch over the street like nature’s cathedral ceiling, and the architecture—Victorian, Neoclassical, Bungalow styles—tells the story of a community that’s always valued beauty and craftsmanship.

(Fun fact for the music lovers: The Allman Brothers Band Museum is just down the road at 2321 Vineville. So if your partner wants to check that out while you’re at your appointment, I won’t judge.)

Why Macon? Why Now?

I’ve been serving families throughout Middle Georgia for a while now, and it became clear that many of you were making quite the trek for lactation support. I’ll continue offering home visits throughout the region and seeing clients at my Sandersville office, but this Macon location adds another convenient option for families who prefer an office setting closer to home.

This new space means that families in Bibb County and surrounding areas now have even more flexibility in accessing lactation care. Whether you’re dealing with painful latching, low milk supply concerns, returning to work and need pumping guidance, or you just need someone to tell you that you’re doing a great job and it’s all going to be okay—you’ll have options for where and how we meet.

The Macon office will be open for appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays to start, with home visits and Sandersville office appointments available throughout the week.

What You Can Expect

Suite 107 will offer the same personalized, judgment-free lactation support that Nurturing Lactation Care has always provided. I’ll be available for:

  • Prenatal consultations to prepare for your feeding journey
  • Initial breastfeeding consultations for new parents
  • Follow-up visits to monitor progress and adjust care plans
  • Pumping consultations for parents returning to work
  • Addressing concerns about milk supply, painful feeding, or latch difficulties
  • Weighted feeds to assess milk transfer
  • Support for unique feeding journeys, including tongue ties, multiples, and preemies

The space is welcoming, private, and designed with your comfort in mind. There’s plenty of parking (because we all know the struggle of circling the block with a crying baby in the backseat), and the location is easy to find right at the corner of Vineville Avenue and Pierce Avenue in Midtown Macon.

Booking Your Appointment

I’m already accepting appointments for the first week of March and beyond. If you’re pregnant and want to set up a prenatal consultation, or if you’re currently in those early postpartum weeks and need support yesterday, don’t hesitate to reach out.

The best time to call a lactation consultant is when you first think you might need one. Not after weeks of struggling, not after you’re so exhausted you can barely see straight, not after everyone and their cousin has given you conflicting advice. Right when that little voice says, “Hmm, this doesn’t feel quite right.”

Trust that voice. I did, and it led me to this beautiful building on Vineville Avenue.

A Note on My Philosophy

If you’ve been reading my work for any length of time, you know I’m not about perfection. I’m about reality. Feeding your baby—however you choose to do it—is hard work. It doesn’t always look like the Instagram posts. Sometimes it’s messy and complicated and nothing like what you imagined.

My job isn’t to judge your journey or push you toward some impossible ideal. My job is to meet you where you are, help you reach your feeding goals (whatever those may be), and remind you that you’re already doing better than you think you are.

Come See Me in Macon

So there it is. March 1st. Suite 107. 2607 Vineville Avenue, Macon, Georgia.

I’ll be the one in a building with almost 150 years of history, ready to help you write the next chapter of your own story—the one where you and your baby figure this feeding thing out together, where you feel supported instead of alone, where you learn to trust yourself as much as I already trust in you.

I can’t wait to welcome you.
